Finished Breaking Bad and El Camino last week, so I'm moving on to this prequel show.
Jesus tap dancing christ.
Granted, I hadn't seen the other shows that were up against Saul for Emmy awards, but I just watched episode six of season one last night "Five-O" and holy shit, how did Jonathan Banks not win that year? No hyperbole when I say it's one of the best performances in a television show I've seen.
Anyway, such a well-written show. And it's amazing to watch Odenkirk's character develop from a small time lawyer to the devious mastermind he would eventually become. You also get a sense of how Mike Ehermantraut developed from a tired ex-cop working as a parking attendant to becoming cold blooded, devious hired muscle.

As with all the best in their respective fields, this telly show takes its sweet motherfucking time doing anything and makes it look easy. 5-minute stretches of silence as Mike nuts out his crafty capers.

It still amazes me that the BB writers pretty much pulled Mike's character out of their collective asses because Odenkirk wasn't available for shooting that day. Talk about lightning in a bottle.

I imagine he will move on from the BB Universe, so it will be interesting to see what Gilligan does next. I used to listen to the BB podcast and he would appear quite a lot, extremely affable and obviously in love with what he was doing...

I didn't like Breaking Bad. I got sick of all the hype and it reminds me of bros who are really in to the movie "Scarface" and shit like that. Once all the Breaking Bad stuff showed up in Season 4 of Better Call Saul I had a real "well, that was nice but here we go" feeling. I'll watch it to close out the series and because Kim is hot but it's not gonna be the hilarity of of the Elder Law era.
The first few seasons of Saul are some of my favorite tv, can't they prequel the prequel and just make a show about Slippin' Jimmy??

the Special Ops guys bungle that hit on Lalo. Special Needs more like.
S6 e1, the much predicted meltdown between Jimmy and Kim, is it really coming? Jimmy seems really torn and unwilling about dragging her and her niceness into his increasingly horrid shady world......... yet she seems pretty much up for it |

My guess is some bad, bad shit is going to happen to Kim at the hands of Lalo. And that's what sends Jimmy over the edge into his breaking bad persona.
Also guessing Michael Mando cops some torture c/o Lalo.

Kim is the one who is breaking bad. She's the only character who's gone through a significant change in the show. I'm pretty sure she's going to die, Lalo is probably a smart bet.

This guy jumps around a bit and mixes in footage from other episodes, but my ADD/weed-soaked brain needed some clues about what the fugg is going on with the game they are running on Howard. Picks up all the little Easter eggs/hints also.
The video on the whole Howard/Kim/Saul history was good also but watch those 2 hour plus live episode discussions at your own peril!

Damn I miss so much just watching this shit in a dozy stupor. Had no idea what was going on with Jimmy's dilated eyes. Missed the black book from ep 1 too.
They're doing a crafty job of engendering sympathy for Howard.
Lalo was not in Breaking Bad? Would be satisfying to see him get a good ganking.

Which sends Kim into hiding. Buggered if i know how theyre gonna shoehorn Jimmy living in that extravagant house as shown in ep 1. There's only about 6 episodes left ffs |

Yah, I was kinda hoping Hamlin would've turned the con around on them and got his wife back, maybe quit corporate and imitate Kim! But, alas, another dues ex death machina. What was the point of showing his wife tho?
I hope at least Kim survives to the post-BB somehow, and Lalo too, how rich would that be...but I figure there will be some more death delt over the last seven. |
