Every college age girl in Japan is wearing these.  Size XL faded black t-shirts from the 90's. Basically, my wardrobe. And my size ffs. New stores opening up packed full of them at 4,500 yen a pop. FFS they were probably hoovered up from US Goodwill stores for what, $2 each? "Distressed" Nirvana t-shirts. I chatted to 2 girls in my classes last week wearing these and they have no idea "Nirvana" was even a music band. It's weird. |

I have such a huge backlog of "Foreigners in Japan" articles and info that we may need another thread...but I will just start with this: Tourists are eating OUR rice ffs! um no, not quite:  So Japanese don't even need that much rice anymore. I will have to dig up some data for the last six years since both those lines even out at the end there... Sidenote: Being a California health nut, I have basically always eaten brown rice and was of course shocked at first at how hard it was to find brown rice in Japan: This sounds about right as I think the number of brown-rice serving health food restos in Hiroshima has gone from one to two over the last 10 years... |
