Easily one of the best TV shows I've seen this century, maybe of all time, especially seasons 1 and 2.
Three seasons all together, all on Netflix.
If you like amazing sci-fi, and great drama, watch this.
One scene in particular in season 1 is so good I've watched just that one scene about 100X.
Watch with subtitles only, not dubbed.
The casting is brilliant, no way to convey how fucking amazing it is. You have to watch it to understand. Best casting in anything I've ever seen.

I don't do spoilers.
It's even better if you go in not knowing what to expect.

Watched ep1, very slick.Looks to be some sort of kraut version of Stranger Things? Of course, bereft of ALL casual Jojo Rabbity gags at the expense of the goddamn nazis. Actually, they did an incredibly convincing job of making Germans seem like actual human beings. Incredible! It can't be an easy thing to pull off.

There were a lot of people comparing Dark to Stranger Things but I personally hate that comparison. Dark is light years better and the similarities are superficial.

I didn't care for Stranger Things. I thought I liked it a little while I watched the first season but in the end I didn't care for it and had no interest in season 2.

Raced up to E5 now. Has a good balance of not rushing shit while keeping the "what happens next" factor. Although was hoping for more fun and games from little Mikkel when he went back to 1986. Don't just clam up, at least go a bit Back To The Future Biff and tell them who's going to win the Superbowl next year ffs.Maybe not the Germans style to levy in a bit of levity. "Ve must keep ze plotte moving briskly along at all times in und orderly fashion. The trains run on time and so must ze plotte. Ve haff no time for your quaint American japery and whimsy"Also rooting the bratty teen's house. Can see what you mean on the casting Rabid. Very helpful of them with the split screen and old/young versions of the characters. Thought I'd puzzled most out but wasnt sure. Still a bit hazy on the Teidlemans. Episode 6 and FINALLY a payoff, the blonde boy found the portal to 1986. Now I want to see a lot more japery and comic dicking around with the Marty Mcfly narrative u kraut cuntzI'd go back to 1986 in a heartbeat. If I get to have my 17-year old body back. Oh hell yeah. Fuck the future. It hasn't panned out how I wouldve liked it to. 1st XV Rugby 1st XI Soccer 1st XI Cricket Senior A tennis 100 metre Senior champion 200 metre Senior champion Long Jump Senior Champion Triple Jump Senior Champion So what if there were only 3 other pricks at my borstal, dont gatecrash my memories u killjoy fuckers

I'm glad you like it but this show is not Back to the Future. Just because there is time travel does not mean it will be like BTTF, MORAN.

Oh, and I had to watch the first season 4X to get a handle on everyone. Most people can get it in 2, very few in 1.
I had severe issues focusing back then so I forgot pretty much everything after the first season, had to rewatch it before season 2, but liked it so much watched it again. Then watched 1 and 2 a fourth and third time before season 3.
Season 3 only once, no issues there, it only aired just this year. I won't talk about season 3 until you've watched it.

Do you still play any sports, or do any kind of athletics? If not, why don't you join a rugby team or something like that?
I would never go back to my 1986 life unless I could go back with all my knowledge and life I've learned since. Would do so many things differently, especially not get fat at any point, have goals and follow my dreams no matter what. Typical stuff. It would be great to relive Michael Jackson in his heyday though. Man I would love to time travel to change time for MJ too. What would I tell him that he would even listen to a crazy fat cat lady fan? "Michael Jackson, it's 1984 right now but I am from the future, please listen to me, do NOT, do NOT, whatever you do, let any children sleep in your bedroom at any point in time." Would he listen?

- Finished S1 and about 85% following it. At times find myself only cottoning on to who's talking to who from which time zone towards the tail end of convos which probably precluded me from really immersing in it.
- Reckon 3 time zones was about 0.8 too many. 2.2 wouldve been a better bite size 4 me.
- Goddamn it rains a lot in Krautland.
- FFS blonde teen boys fam still lives in the house daddy offed himself in? The lad potters around in the actual loft under the beam daddy strung himself up from, surrounded by all the satanic drawings still up on the walls? Damn the hun are some cold phlegmatic fuckers. "It iz fiiiine, it is just und house. Some memories good, some bad".
What'd they do to the nazi gas chambers, turn them into some "Zyklon B Youth Hostels" or some shit? "It iz fiiiine, it is und just another room. Look dumbkopf, the roof is still of sound structural integrity." - Anyway, looking forward to a S2 cameo from Jurgen:
ps the bosch a bit too unfazed over the whole time travel thing I reckon. If you turn up in a forest, in 2019, and you're from 1986, the compulsion to go and see what a future city looks like in 2019 would be goddamn overwhelming. Your brain would be fuckign screaming at you OMG OMG OMG I HAVE TO FUCKING SEE THIS SHIT.
Yet the hun just potter about in the forest a bit, gawk at a few rellies at the school, then bugger off back to the tunnel to head back to their own timezone. WFT.

Can't remember, but I think the room the father was in in the first episode was above the garage or something, so it's not really part of the house.

It has been long enough since I saw season one--which is the only season I have seen so far--that I do not really remember it, so I am going to start rewatching from the beginning.

Why would anyone who wasn't me want to be me? The name "Wirthling" implies a degree of televisual expertise in and around the foriisphere. Speaking of which we have about 50 TV show threads here that need your experte judgemente passed on so chop chop MORAN.

I am most of the way through my re-watch of season 1. I regretfully admit that it did not occur to me until the fourth episode that I could and should switch to the original german audio with english subtitles. It really is better, he said, pushing up his glasses.

I watched the first series (maybe it was 2). I enjoyed it but kept getting confused about who was who. I hate dubbing, so reading the subs doesn't make it easier to keep an eye on everything. There's no way I could pick it up again without a total rewatch.

If wirthling wants to, you should make him moderator of the television forum. TheVictorian is moderator of the film forum, so why not. Was half thinking of making EVERYONE a moderator. Doesnt mean anyhting anyway, theres nothing here to goddamn moderate. There are 2 reasons I dont want to follow that course and here they are in easy-to-follow bullet point format; - it would see the end of my stupid post rankings as everyone would have "Moderator" under their name instead.
- there is no moderating to do. One time proboards sent me a vicious missive telling me to take down a boobie pic but apart from that, there is no need for a "moderator" here.
FFS now that I have twice as many posts as any other prick here I'm kind of half thinking of doing away with post counts altogether. Selfishly, mainly so I dont look like so much of a saddo. I dunno. But no more post counts means no more mental post rankings either. Maybe I need to get in touch with my pole and consult him on these matters.

Finished season 1 re-watch, will probably need another to nail down who is who. Some of the casting is more right-on than others, which sometimes makes it harder to see the connections. Another complicating factor is that part of the nature of the show is that it explores how behaviors get passed from one generation to the next and so we see characters from different time periods behaving similarly. Also, the show has done fuck all in the first season of explaining what the fuck is going on beyond the basics. I do really love it, more so on second viewing.

Also, the show has done fuck all in the first season of explaining what the fuck is going on beyond the basics. I do really love it, more so on second viewing. Older Regina was the least similar looking to younger Regina, I had trouble with her. Can't remember any others I had trouble with, except there are a lot of characters to keep track of. I thought Oldest Ulrich was the same actor as Middle Ulrich but in make up. Phenomenal - it's a different actor.
I think the most heartbreaking in season 1 is Ulrich and Helge's story. It got better and more tragic with each viewing.
I love how it doesn't explain everything. It makes you think, and so much is actually already there that you see when you rewatch it - like the play she is in, and her dialogue.
This was my favourite scene, it's just beautiful. I thought the song was a duet but it's actually one woman singing, her voice modulated during the lower parts.
